It is useful to know what each error means. This is however only the start of the story - you still have to find the cause of the problem. In the present case we managed to fix one of the problems - in fact knowing the error code did not help - we had to fix it by understanding what the problem was. This can lead to more knowledge over time - one can begin to understand what kind of problems cause what kind of error messages. This would be a useful addition - a databse that one could use which explains the kind of problems that cause certain error messages.
